The Client:

Anvil Coffee is a locally owned spokane business with over 20 years of experience in roasting. We source premium coffees from traceable farms and roast them in small batches. We support local shops and coffee houses, believing in independent business. All of our bags are made of compostable material and our printing is done on a 100 year old letter press! please visit our website and explore the many varietals available or choose to build your own blend.

The Project:

This was an ongoing personal project for me. The old design was one that I created in high-school. The company has since grown and evolved significantly and the logo and plate layout needed revision. These bags are out and being sold through several different local businesses in Spokane Washington. We order raised metal printing plates based off of the design and coffee bag. Once the plates arrive they are adjusted and trimmed by hand to work seamlessly.  Joe Thomson owns and operates the century old letterpress, I have been spending time learning how the press works and using it myself throughout the process.
